Roey Marquis II worked for over two decades as a music producer, DJ, and owner of various record labels in Frankfurt, Germany, and Brooklyn, NY. He has produced songs for a large segment of the German rap scene as well as for various New York underground rappers. After retiring from the music industry, Roey set his creative sights on a visual platform: photography. He named his work Ming Art. Ming is a Chinese character that conjoins the words sun and moon and signifies light and understanding.

Through his repertoire of thematic works, Roey captures the many dimensions of light and dark as he travels through country sides, urban environments, coastlines, and mountains. His diverse portfolio is filled with images that are at once intense and subdued, delicate and strong, dynamic and still, all of which achieve a finely wrought tranquility reflecting the sensuality of nature and the luminosity of humankind.
